After much complicated back and forth, my website is finally able to be updated again! Many things have happened, but for now the most important things are:
1, The addition of a new size, support and motif in my work, 2, New paintings have been completed and can be viewed on the 'paintings' page 3, A short film by Charlotte Berglin (A Scarlet Film) about my work and process. 4, New exhibitions added to my schedule. In order, after the best part of 20 years working on stretched canvas, I have opted to paint on smooth primed wood panels. This surface allows me greater freedom as the painting begins immediately without having to 'paint into' the surface. The smooth primer takes the layers well and, with no grain or texture of its own, it gives a lustre and strength to each mark and glaze. The current size is a decidedly more modest 45 x 61cm. The new paintings in this size are - Regression, Glimpsed, Through Habit and History, and Breathing. A short film has been made by Charlotte Berglin (www.scarletfilm.se) about my work, thoughts and process. A link to the film: https://youtu.be/nLXCS8kr6mc Finally for now, exhibitions have been added to my schedule for the coming year: December to February - three exhibitions at Hotels 'Eggers', 'Varberg Stadshotell & Asia Spa', and 'Arken', all in the Gothenburg area. September 2017 - Schacher Raum Für Kunst Several paintings, including Unregarded and The Tears of Things, are currently on show in Gothenburg, Sweden, at the Gallery Art Veritas exhibition NEW. The show runs from 17 October - November 5, 2015. For full details, either drop me a line or contact the gallery.
The next exhibition will be my first with Gallery Art Veritas, Sweden. On show will be 8 paintings, 10 works on paper and 6 framed photographs from the series 'At The End of Light'.
The first painting from the new studio is now complete. The relocation proved quite disruptive to the process, but I feel that with this completion I can move forward. Title to follow...
127 x 168cm Oil on canvas 2014 After much procrastination, I eventually settled on Weebly to bring the website up to date. I hope it is now more user friendly and streamlined. Most importantly, the image processing should be much clearer. If you have any thoughts or comments about the new design and handling, please feel free to send me a message.
